Tricktech’s Barrel band for the Benjamin Akela is a precision machined add-on to stabilize the free floating barrel assembly to help improve durability and accuracy of the firearm.
The Benjamin Akela is already a precision instrument but lacks what most people consider a necessary component, a barrel band. Through normal handling and use scenarios like hunting or plinking, the free floating barrel assembly on the rifle is potentially susceptible to flexing and potential damage. Protecting the rifle from damage is important, but additionally the band stabilizes the barrel during the firing process making what many people claim to be an extremely accurate air rifle even more consistent.
To accomplish this, the Tricktech Barrel Band for the Akela is machined from 6061 T6 billet aluminum using modern CNC equipment and manufacturing processes. With tight tolerances, it is designed to fit precisely and supply uniform support with minimal tension required thus reducing the potential of damage or misalignment to your rifle or damage from an impact moving or sliding the band during normal use.
Design elements were incorporated in an effort to compliment the already beautiful aesthetics of the Akela. Bringing protection and functionality to the rifle does not mean it had to look out of place. To finish the process, Type III Anodizing has been utilized to give the Barrel Band an extremely strong and durable coating that provides for years of service without showing signs of wear from normal use.
