The necklace is clearly hallmarked 585 / Balestra / ITALY on the end pieces and features the Balestra maker’s logo on the lobster clasp. The 585 hallmark indicates 58.5% gold, equivalent to 14K.
This necklace was also taken to a local jeweler and professionally tested as solid 14K gold.

The necklace is in very good pre-owned condition with normal light surface wear consistent with previous use. The links articulate freely and the clasp is functional. The necklace was professionally tested by a local jeweler as solid 14K gold. The jeweler also advised that a comparable new necklace of this quality/construction could retail in approximately the $2,500–$3,000 range; this was an informal retail comparison and not a written appraisal or valuation.
