This is a vintage BOSS DF-2 SUPER responseer & Distortion effects pedal, made in Japan.
The DF-2 combines a hard distortion circuit with a unique response effect. It features two operating modes and four controls: LEVEL, TONE, DIST, and OVERTONE. The OVERTONE control adjusts the harmonic character of the response effect. BOSS describes the DF-2 as offering higher gain than the DS-1 with a smoother attack character, together with its distinctive responseer function.
The rear label clearly identifies the unit as “Products of Roland / MADE IN JAPAN” and shows serial number 493100.
Power-on operation was confirmed. The CHECK indicator illuminates when powered. Audio input/output, distortion sound, responseer operation, individual controls, and all functions were not fully tested.
The pedal is clearly marked “USE BOSS ACA ADAPTOR ONLY.” Roland confirms that the DF-2 uses the ACA power adapter. The original specifications also list a 9V battery and ACA-series AC adapter as power sources.
The AC adapter shown/used for testing is not included.
