AFGHAN KILIM RUG HAND-LOOMED

The Kilim was purchased in the ancient market in Madrid, Spain called El Rastro. The seller had come from Afghanistan with his beautiful blankets, rugs, pillow covers. and tablecloths. Everything was folded neatly on shelves and some were hanging on walls. It was a luxurious sight in hand-dyed cottons and silks.
This handmade kilim has a cotton warp and a wool weft with all natural handmade vegetable dyes. Hand-loomed for centuries, and this was made in this old traditional way. The colors are bright and clean.
NOTE: The folded blanket/rug photos were taken in natural light and are the correct brighter colors. The flat rug photos were taken in artificial light and are darker than actual. Horizontal 1 is the back side and 2 is the front. Vertical 3 is the back side and 4 is the front.
