Striking pair of vintage paintings on canvas, attributed to Yehiel Rabinowitz, featuring elongated figures in rich red and black. Their haunting presence suits Gothic interiors or a distinctive Halloween display.
Both backs bear painted inscriptions reading “I. Rabinowitz / 1963 / Paris.” Attribution is based on similarities in style and reverse lettering to a dealer-listed 1964 painting; these works have not been independently authenticated.
Reportedly sourced from a New York City brownstone estate. Presented in matching wooden frames with cream fabric liners and gold-tone inner trim, stylistically consistent with mid-century framing. Originality of the frames is unconfirmed.
