Rare, signed 1913 edition of Atta Troll, originally by Heinrich Heine (in German). Translated by Herman Scheffauer with introduction by Oscar Levy. Illustrations by Willy Pogany and decorations by Horace Taylor. Inscribed and signed by Scheffauer to F. W. Wile, presumably his contemporary, Frederic William Wile, who was a notable journalist.
Structurally sound with tight binding. A little scuffing and discoloration to cover. Exterior of rear board has apparent water staining, but no evidence of water damage to interior. Corners bumped with some wear. Spine has a little wear to ends, and somewhat darkened but lettering and decoration clear and bright. Besides translator\'s inscription of front end paper, there\'s also some small writing in pencil. Interior otherwise clean. A little bit of an old-book smell. See photos.
