This is only the first genuine, or “Real” note we have handled from this bank. We have had numerous counterfeit varieties, but never a genuine note, until now.
Adesign that at first appears like it might be a $1 note raised to a $10. However, the Cyrus Durand-patented lathework strip on the $1 is on the right, whereas on this $10 it is on the left. Contemporary genuine note descriptions confirm that this is, in fact, a genuine note. It has been punch hole cancelled and has some pinholes.
