This beautiful 3 3/4\" x 6 1/2\" cacheted, unaddressed envelope marks the explosion aboard Apollo 13. The envelope is postmarked Cape Canaveral, FL on April 14, 1970. The explosion happened at 3:08 UTC on April 14.Attached to the envelope is a piece of the gold Kapton foil that covered the command module of Apollo 13 approximately 1/4\" on its longest side. So this piece of Kapton flew around the moon and back to earth, exposed to the environment of space the entire way.
Comes with a copy of the original COA.You may notice some tiny gray dots on the image I\'ve posted. These are NOT on the envelope. They are just a quirk of my scanner.
