This hexagonal bowl was created during the Tongzhi period (1862-1874) of the QingDynasty, a time when traditional Chinese porcelain production experienced a revivalafter the Taiping Rebellion.
The bowl features traditional Chinese figures in colorful robes, likelydepicting scholars or immortals, painted in the distinctive wucai (five-color) stylecombined with famille rose enamels. It features a turquoise interior glaze and gilt rim.
