Offered for sale is a wonderful set of three antique French architectural/topographical lithographs, believed to date to approximately the 1820s–1830s.
The three views include:
* Pont Neuf – Paris
* Pavillon de Flore – Paris
* Montmorency
The prints feature finely detailed early lithographic scenes depicting historic French architecture, bridges, buildings, figures, horses and everyday street/river life.
Visible inscriptions include Deroy as artist and period lithographer/publisher information beneath the images. The prints also appear to have an embossed blindstamp near the lower portion of the sheets, which may help further identify their publisher/origin.
These appear to be antique period prints rather than modern decorative reproductions, but they are being sold based on the photographs and markings shown.
Condition: Antique condition with age-related toning, foxing/spots, discoloration and some edge/corner wear. The printed image areas remain attractive with very nice architectural detail. The prints are currently mounted/backed and covered in protective plastic. Please examine all photographs carefully as they are an important part of the condition description.
A very attractive group for a collector of antique French prints, Paris architecture, early lithography, European city views or 19th-century decorative art.
