Antique Yale & Towne Triple-Movement Bank Vault Time Lock Salvaged from a Historic Sparks, Nevada Bank Building

A genuine piece of American banking security history — this is an antique triple-movement time lock mechanism made by The Yale & Towne Mfg. Co. of Stamford, Connecticut. Devices like this were installed inside old bank vault doors to prevent the bolt work from being released until a preset time had elapsed, no matter who knew the combination.

Provenance: Per the seller, this unit was personally removed from the safe/vault door of an old bank building in Sparks, Nevada, said to have come from the former Nevada National Bank. The building has since been demolished. This history is provided by the seller and cannot be independently verified, but the mechanism itself is an unquestionably genuine antique time lock. What You\'re Getting
  • Three independent jeweled clock movements, each dial marked \"THE YALE & TOWNE MFG. CO., STAMFORD, CONN. U.S.A.\" — the classic \"triple movement\" design used so that if one clock stopped, the other two would still keep the lock on schedule
  • A third dial appears partially marked \"…E.BOLD®\", most likely DIEBOLD® — Yale\'s time lock division was later sold to Diebold, so this detail suggests a later-production unit
  • Original red \"EMERGENCY — TURN RED KNOB — TO RELEASE TIME LOCK CONTROL — YALE\" instruction plate, with the red emergency release knob still in place
  • A case number stamped into the top of the housing, reading approximately \"S617\" (partially worn — please verify)
  • Visible internal gear train with brass wheels and jeweled bearing pivots
  • Mounted to a clear acrylic display plate with individual lenses over each dial
Condition

This is a genuine, uncleaned antique. It shows age-appropriate dust, light cobwebbing in the works, tarnishing on the nickel-plated case, and light surface scuffs on the clear cover. The mechanism has not been tested and function (winding/running) cannot be confirmed. Sold as-is, as a historical mechanism/display piece, in the condition shown in the photos. No key, safe, or door is included — this is the time lock movement only.

Approximate Size: ~6\" wide x 4.5\" tall x 3\" deep (measured against grid-background photo — estimate only, please verify)

A rare opportunity to own a piece of real bank vault hardware with documented salvage history from a Nevada bank building. Great for collectors of locksmith history, bank/vault memorabilia, antique mechanisms, or steampunk-style display pieces.
