Antique W.A. Pickard China Gold Decorated Cream / Milk Pitcher – Circa 1912-1918Beautiful early W.A. Pickard hand-decorated porcelain pitcher dating to approximately 1912-1918.The pitcher features a warm ivory porcelain body with a broad satin-gold decorative band, subtle scroll and floral detailing, fine gold line accents, and a distinctive geometric gold handle decorated with raised beadwork.The underside retains the early circular “Handpainted W. Pickard China” decorator mark applied over a gold maple-leaf style ground. This Pickard trademark is associated with approximately 1912-1918 production.Pickard operated as a decorating studio during this period and purchased undecorated porcelain blanks from European, Japanese, and American manufacturers before decorating them in Chicago. A faint additional mark or impression may relate to the original porcelain blank manufacturer, but the blank maker has not been conclusively identified.Condition:
Pre-owned antique condition with normal age and display wear. The gold decoration shows rubbing and finish loss in areas, most noticeably on the raised beads of the handle where some lighter porcelain is visible. Additional light wear and surface marks are present around the gold rim and decorative bands. The porcelain body remains attractive overall.
