The frame features beautifully carved overlapping wood layers and prominent, hand-chipped corner leaf motifs indicative of classic Adirondack/primitive folk art. Housed inside under original glass is an intricately illustrated Victorian lithograph marriage certificate from Mt. Vernon, Ohio, dated January 1917. It documents the union of William Ernest Ackerman and Mary Catharine Totman, solemnized by Reverend S.C. Allen. Frame & Glass: Excellent antique condition. The dark stained wood has fantastic depth, and the gold liner retains a striking luster. The corner embellishments are secure. Original glass is intact.
