Antique Silver Evening Purse
Birmingham, 1916
A large antique silver purse on a chain, probably made to be attached to a lady\'s chatelaine or belt. It has a beaded border and lovely engraved scrolling decoration around a central cartouche. It has a clasp at the top which opens to a tan leather interior with various internal sections.
It is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1916 and the maker F.D.Long. The total weight is 144g.
It is in good condition for its age. There are some general signs of age and use, some small dinks and dents and light surface marks and a very small hole on one corner (see photo) but nothing detrimental and overall it displays very well. The interior is generally clean and tidy.
Approximate Measurements:
Height : 4 1/4\" (11cm) without chain
