Antique Solid Bronze Roty Plaque – 1899- 1900 UC Berkeley Competition:
$110.00

This antique solid bronze commemorative plaque was issued for the International Competition for the Phoebe Hearst Architectural Plan for the University of California (circa 1899–1900), a historic event that helped shape the early design of the UC Berkeley campus. The plaque features detailed high-relief portraits of the competition jury members on one side and a classical female figure on the reverse, and is signed “Roty” by renowned French medal engraver Louis-Oscar Roty. Made of solid bronze (heavy, not hollow), it dates to the late 1800s/early 1900s and remains in good antique condition with a natural patina from age. An excellent collectible for architecture enthusiasts, university history collectors, or antique medal collectors.
