Antique Royal Crown Derby porcelain covered-dish lid featuring delicate green floral decoration with gold gilt accents and a scalloped edge. Measures approximately 6 1/4” across.
This piece has a particularly interesting early repair: the lid was broken/cracked and historically repaired using metal staple repairs, an old method of ceramic restoration in which metal staples were inserted across the cracks to hold the porcelain together.
Condition: Heavily repaired antique condition. Multiple cracks are present throughout the lid and have been stabilized with numerous old metal staples. Cracks remain clearly visible, including a long crack extending across the lid and additional cracking near the rim. There is age-related surface wear, discoloration/soiling, and wear to the gilt decoration. Please review all photos carefully as they are an important part of the condition description.
