Stunning Pair of Antique Fischer & Mieg (Pirkenhammer) Porcelain Pedestal Compotes
Beautifully preserved pair of antique pedestal compotes (tazzas) produced by the prestigious Fischer & Mieg factory in Pirkenhammer, Bohemia.
Based on the green underglaze factory backstamp featuring the crown and crossed hammers, this pair dates precisely between 1873 and 1918.
These pieces showcase the highly desirable, nature-inspired Aesthetic Movement style.
The bowls and bases are exquisitely hand-painted with a naturalistic display of songbirds, detailed insects (including a dragonfly and bees), wild flowers, and foliage. The artwork is beautifully accented with delicate, raised gold overlay and trim.
Bowl Diameter: Approx. 8.5 inches
Height: Approx. 5.5 inches
Weight: 1 lb 10.3 oz (single unit weight shown in photo)
Both compotes are in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or structural repairs.
The porcelain remains bright, and the hand-painted detailing is remarkably crisp and vibrant.
Consistent with pieces of this age, there is minor, expected rubbing to the gold trim edges, which does not detract from their stunning presentation. Please inspect all high-resolution photos carefully as they form an essential part of the description.
