There is something timeless about antique silverplate filled with garden flowers that makes a room feel instantly more timeless.
This antique Newburyport Silver Co. footed vase has a beautifully simple pedestal shape with a wide, rounded bowl and more than a century of history behind it. Newburyport Silver Co. was founded in Newburyport, Massachusetts in 1902, incorporated the following year, and moved production to Keene, New Hampshire in 1904. The company had a remarkably short life, closing in 1915, making its surviving pieces a lovely little remnant of early 20th-century New England silvermaking.
At approximately 8” tall and 7” at its widest point, this piece has enough presence to make a beautiful centerpiece without overwhelming a table, mantel or sideboard. Its aged silverplate finish is especially lovely paired with loose hydrangeas, garden roses, wildflowers or branches.

This piece has been left unpolished and retains its naturally aged patina. As expected with an antique silverplate piece of this age, there is visible tarnish, spotting, surface wear, discoloration, scratches and areas of plating wear/loss, particularly to the interior.
