This piece is an authentic handwoven Native American Navajo regional textile dating to the early to mid-twentieth century. Handcrafted on a traditional upright vertical loom, it features hand-spun wool yarns in natural carded white, brown, and grey alongside vibrant aniline red. The complex composition incorporates classic regional geometric iconography, including stepped crosses, stylized spirit or insect motifs, arrows, and serrated framing borders. Traditional weavings from this period represent a celebrated era of Southwest folk textile art produced for both internal cultural use and the vibrant historic trading post market.
