Up for sale is an extraordinary, complete antique set of 12 Silver-Lenox dinner plates, custom-commissioned for the high-end Parmelee-Dohrmann Co. of Los Angeles during the Art Deco era (c. 1906–1933). Each plate features a breathtaking ivory porcelain base decorated with a vibrant royal blue band, yellow trellis border, exotic birds, and raised enamel floral detailing. The rim and the entire center medallion feature intricate, heavy genuine sterling silver overlay motifs. The reverse bears the hand-painted factory pattern code 1830 / X-945 Q alongside the green Lenox stamp. A magnificent, museum-quality set that has been exceptionally preserved. Perfect for fine dining or an advanced porcelain collection.
Condition & Preservation: TRULY EXCELLENT ANTIQUE CONDITION. Absolutely no chips, cracks, hairlines, or crazing to the porcelain. The raised enamel artwork is bright and completely intact.
The genuine sterling silver overlay is exceptional—there is absolutely no peeling and no silver lifting in any areas across all 12 plates; the metal remains securely bonded to the porcelain. In keeping with their 100-year antique age, 2 of the plates (SEE IMAGES 2, 3, 4, 5) have a few areas of light surface wear on the central silver medallions and occasionally along the silver edges where the white porcelain base gently peeks through the fine engraving. This is purely micro-friction wear from historic handling, not damage, and it does not detract from the striking display quality. There have been no past restorations or repairs done on this set of plate.
