Hand-knotted Kurdish village rug from northwest Iran. Deep navy field with an all-over lattice of serrated diamonds, each enclosing small star/rosette motifs, framed by a richly ornamented rosette-and-geometrics border system. Classic village palette in indigo, madder red, ivory, soft blues, and warm ochres with subtle abrash. Board-like handle. Honest antique condition. Visible edge/end wear consistent with age.
