Up for sale is an authentic 14-Inch Antique German Bisque Shoulder-Head Doll manufactured by König & Wernicke (marked K & W No. 11/0). Founded in Waltershausen, Thuringia, Germany in 1912, König & Wernicke produced exceptionally fine porcelain dolls using heads sourced from premier German porcelain houses like Bähr & Pröschild.
She features a bisque porcelain shoulder-head with stationary blue glass eyes, painted upper and lower eyelashes, feathered eyebrows, rosy cheeks, and an open mouth showing tiny white teeth. She has curly brown hair and a soft leather/kidskin body.
She comes dressed in a Victorian-style black dress featuring floral embroidery, white lace trim, gold front button details, a pink ribbon waist sash, black net stockings, tie-up shoes, and a matching black bonnet with ribbon loop accents.
The front of her bisque shoulder plate features the distinct hand-incised marking:K & W No. 11/0
