A striking antique Japanese Meiji-period cloisonné lidded jar with two elegant side handles and richly detailed decoration throughout.
The upper body features a continuous band of finely worked dragons against a dark sparkling ground, while the lower section is arranged with alternating shield-shaped panels decorated with phoenix and floral motifs in vibrant enamel colors.
The domed lid is equally decorative, with layered geometric and floral patterns and a colorful finial. The combination of the rounded form, dense wirework, strong red ground, turquoise accents, and mythical imagery gives the piece excellent visual presence.
A fitted carved wood stand is included. The stand appears later than the cloisonné jar itself and gives the piece a richer presentation.

Overall in very good antique condition with expected age-related surface wear and patina.
The lid shows a few fine stress lines consistent with age and presents very well overall.
According to the previous owner, the handles were reinforced at some point for added stability. They are secure and present well.
