Antique Late Victorian / Edwardian Gold Filled Locket & Watch Chain Necklace – Monogram – Paste Stones – 25 Grams
Beautiful antique gold-filled locket suspended from an equally lovely period rope-style watch chain, dating approximately 1890–1910.
The round locket features an ornate raised floral design surrounding a central shield cartouche engraved with an old English-style “M” monogram. Small faceted paste/rhinestone accents are incorporated into the floral decoration, several of which have darkened with age.
The reverse is especially striking, with a large, beautifully executed hand-engraved script monogram.
The locket opens to reveal two photo compartments and retains its interior frames. A small heart-shaped maker’s/device mark is present inside; maker has not been definitively identified.
The antique chain is wonderful in its own right, constructed in a tightly twisted rope style and finished with a decorative four-loop floral connector. At the opposite end is an antique swivel/dog-clip style clasp with an additional open ring, consistent with watch-chain jewelry of the period.

Condition: Good antique condition with age-appropriate wear, patina, surface marks and areas of discoloration consistent with a piece more than a century old. Several of the small paste stones have darkened considerably with age. Please examine all photographs closely, as they are an important part of the description.
A particularly beautiful survivor with lots of antique character—the substantial original-style chain, decorative connector, monogrammed locket and 25-gram weight make this a wonderful wearable piece of Victorian/Edwardian jewelry.
