Antique German J.D. Kestner Mold 164 Bisque Head Doll – Approx. 25” Tall
Beautiful large antique German bisque doll, approximately 25 inches tall. The back of the bisque head is marked “Made in Germany 164” along with additional incised markings.
Doll features a bisque socket head with finely painted facial features, brown glass sleep eyes with lashes, open mouth with upper teeth, pierced/vented head, and a fully jointed composition/wood body.
She has a long blonde 100% human hair wig marked Made in Korea. The wig appears to be a later replacement rather than original to the doll.
Includes the vintage/antique-style clothing and accessories shown in the photographs, including undergarments, stockings, shoes, bonnet and crocheted outer garment.
Condition: This is an antique doll showing age and use. The composition body has noticeable surface wear, scuffs, discoloration, crazing/finish wear and areas of old repair/restoration. Wear is especially evident around the joints, hands and body. The wig shows age/use and has been attached to the head. Brown glass sleep eyes open and close when the doll is moved from upright to reclining.
The bisque head displays nicely with attractive original-style facial painting. Please examine all photographs closely for exact condition, as they are an important part of the description. No attempt has been made to professionally restore or clean the doll. Please note the eyes are inside of the head.
A very attractive large example for an antique German doll or Kestner collection.
