Antique J.C. Deagan Chicago Organ Chime / Shaker Chime – 4-Tube Musical Percussion Instrument
Rare and unusual antique J.C. Deagan Organ Chime, also commonly known as a Deagan Shaker Chime, manufactured by the historic J.C. Deagan Company of Chicago, Illinois.
This is an individual musical note/chime from an early Deagan Organ Chime instrument. Each note was constructed with four graduated metal resonator tubes mounted together on a wooden sounding frame. The four tubes are tuned in octaves and are sounded by shaking the complete assembly, creating the distinctive rich, bell-like tone for which these instruments were known.
