Offered is an Antique Hand-Painted Hungarian Earthenware Handled Pitcher.The piece features unique dotted glazing and exhibits some imperfections indicative of its hand-painting. The glaze is golden with forest green dots in vertical rows around. There is a band of pea green glaze near the bottom of the pitcher and an unglazed section at the base. There is no glaze along the very edge of the rim. There is a double lined ridge around the pitcher and a single ridge that runs down the handle. The handle is 3" long and extends 1 1/2" from the pitcher. There may be an "8" on the bottom of the pitcher. The piece is very displayable and oozes character.
The pitcher is 7" tall and 3 3/4" across the rim. It is in original vintage used condition. Chips and distress to glaze are reflective of age and use. There is a small chip out of the rim and there are two short, slight hairline cracks that run down from the rim. There is some wear to the glazed spots. An imperfection to one of the glazed spots and at the base add character and uniqueness to this piece. Overall it is in good, solid condition. See pics for more detail.
