RARE elaborate and beautifully handmade antique edging from circa 1890 to 1910.This design is known as FRINGED ARCHES EDGING. It is stunning in your hands, silky soft but with a good weight it was obviously made of a luxury grade of cotton. It is in pristine condition with no damage or discoloration at all.
The heading row is dense with a wide flat band of solid stitches giving the perfect straight edge to hand sew this vintage edging to your project. The openwork arches have exquisitely worked trellis patterns, and the scalloped fan border is completed with tiny handmade tassels.
It is in one piece and measures 92\" long (2 yards 20 inches).From the heading down to the tip of a tassel it measures 8\" in length.The narrower area measure 3-3/4\" long.Excellent condition- exceptional and rare to find.A special passementiere - a beautiful textile to add to your collection!
