Antique French bronzed spelter bust depicting the Greek warrior commonly identified as Menelaus or Ajax. He wears an ornate helmet with figures cast in relief. The underside is marked L S F and what appears to be 17. L.S.F. is attributed to the Paris manufacturer Lambin, Saguet et Fouchet; 17 appears to be a model or casting number.
Measures 8½\" high, 4\" across, and 3\" front to back. Weighs 2 pounds 12 ounces. The casting is hollow underneath. There is wear to the finish and a small chip or opening at the pedestal and the bottom is not perfectly round anymore as shown in the photos.
