Salvaged for Restoration- VERY RARE Original outdoor Large lighted mission arts crafts porch /wall light sconce from the very early 1900s - 1920s era.
CONDITION- The light is original as salvaged but brought back to life!
There is some natural weathered paint speckling, but primarily aged natural cast metal and metal framing. The metal frame of the shade is very intact and solid, PLEASE NOTE! - The light does have a few upper spike/tine tips that are slightly bent (see Pictures), these probably can be straightened easy enough but that’s to the new owners discretion, if you do decide to straighten those tips I would highly recommend heating them
up good prior to applying any pressure to avoid cold cracking the metal.
The light was sent for new wiring and socket for operability of the fixture, the original wires were basically deteriorated away, and half the socket was simply missing.
The light work beautifully! All the original metal and cast iron patina that was on the light when found was left original and only received a very slight cleaning/conditioning.
The glass panels are surprisingly all intact and have a fabulous interior texture.
PLEASE NOTE! There is one panel that looks to have been a replacement (pictured). That panel looks
to be approximately around the same age as the others so the replacement was done ages ago, the texturing is very close to the others but is slightly smoother. (Please review photo)
The original brass screws were mostly missing and the few that still existed were in unusable condition, they were all replaced with era correct solid brass replacements, they will age beautifully in no time.
This gorgeous light will look magnificent with the original aging left intact as is or completely refinished, either way it will be look gorgeous.
Please keep in mind this fixture is well over 100 years old and has cosmetic imperfections throughout such as flaking paint,scrapes, age fading ect.
The light holds one standard size bulb. Sorry bulb not included.
