The piece features an intricately cast soft-metal frame adorned with pierced Rococo scrollwork, a floral crest, and cabriole legs, all finished in a bright goldormolu gilding. The central panel holds its original, gathereddusty pink silk fabric, which is laced to the frame with fine green cord and shows honest, age-appropriate splitting and staining. This scarce accessory was historically used to shield delicate complexions from hearth heat or hide empty grates, making it a perfect, historically accurate companion to any early dollhouse and is well suited to the Evans & Cartwright fireplace I have listed separately.
