Offered here is a magnificent and substantial Chinese porcelain floor vase, believed to date to the late Qing Dynasty, 19th century. The vase features an elegant baluster form covered in a soft, pale celadon-green glaze, beautifully contrasted with underglaze cobalt blue and white decoration.The main decoration depicts a mythical Qilin (Kirin) prancing among swirling clouds, mist, and stylized ribbons. The vase is further embellished with two impressive three-dimensional figural handles in the form of Buddhist guardian lions (Foo Dogs). Note: the stand is not included in the sale.
Height: Approximately 16¾ inches
Condition: Overall, the vase is in very good antique condition. I do not see any chips or cracks on the body. There is some crackling visible on the base, but it does not appear to extend through the body and is not visible from the interior.
