A delightful piece of 19th Century graphical history, an American \"Fanny A. Houghton\" ink on paper calligraphy penmanship. It\'s now framed in a gorgeous gilt frame that suites it so well.

Women were expected to use the Italian Hand or \"Ladies’ Hand,\" an elegant, flowing script characterized by delicate lines, subtle curves, and less pressure. By contrast, men’s writing was sturdier and bolder. Handwriting served as a formal indicator of class, elegance, and femininity.\"
In addition to the name, Ms. Houghton also left us with a sporadic set of illustrations, surrounding the name. We have a fence like illustration on the bottom, with a diamond shape element on top of it, tree like pillars on the sides and swirling tornados on the top sides.
