Beautiful antique Heinrich & Co. porcelain plate produced in Selb, Bavaria, Germany and individually hand decorated in 1914. The plate features a wonderfully iridescent pearl-white ground surrounded by stylized pink flowers and green foliage outlined in black, with broad hand-applied gold gilt bands giving it a strong Arts & Crafts/Art Nouveau-era appearance. The underside bears the green crown H&Co Selb Bavaria factory mark along with an artist/decorator signature and handwritten “’14,” which appears to date the decoration to 1914; the H&Co Selb Bavaria mark itself was introduced around 1911. The piece shows age-related wear to the gilding and surface consistent with an antique hand-decorated plate; please see photographs for condition. Measures approximately 6 inches in diameter.
