Beautiful antique two-volume set of “Old Court Life in Spain” by Frances Elliot, published by G. P. Putnam’s Sons, New York and London, The Knickerbocker Press.
This handsome illustrated set features period photogravure plates, depicting Spanish architecture, historic sites, portraits, court scenes, and other subjects related to the history and culture of Spain. The photogravures are especially lovely, with the rich tonal detail characteristic of this late-19th-century printing process.
Both volumes retain their attractive matching decorative cloth bindings with ornate gilt floral designs to the spines. A wonderful display set with beautiful period typography and illustration.
