This is a true collector’s find! On the back, it still features its incredibly rare original paper maker\'s label, detailing its historic origins at 10th and Howard Streets. You will love the other wonderful historical details, too—like the original wooden wheel casters (still in full working order!), the original wood knob pulls secured with period-correct flat-head screws, and those distinct, charming keyhole escutcheons. The wood has a gorgeous, warmly weathered patina that highlights its storied life. Condition & Character: This lovely piece is in Good to Very Good antique condition, with character wear that is entirely consistent with its long life and honest history.
The Patina: There is a minor, historic water mark on the top towards the middle, and another on the front left just under the lower drawer. Both blend beautifully into the aged wood.The Sides: Both the right and left sides have a natural split in the wood, adding to its rustic charm. The Drawers: The top two drawers glide and function wonderfully. The bottom drawer sticks just a bit on the lower left side, but it opens easily if you give the bottom of the drawer a gentle press upward as you pull.
