Highly collectible, authentic copy of "A Lexicon of Freemasonry" by Albert G. Mackey, M.D. This is the scarce Third Edition, published in 1855 by Moss & Brother in Philadelphia.
The 1855 Third Edition is a critical milestone for Masonic history collectors, featuring Mackey's first major expansion with approximately 100 new entries added to the text.
- Exterior: The original dark cloth cover features the iconic gold-gilded Masonic central emblem, which remains distinct. The cover shows significant antique wear, with noticeable fraying, chipping, and heavy decay along the cloth spine.
- Interior: The title page and internal leaves show expected mid-19th-century aging, foxing (spotting), and minor moisture discoloration, but the text remains completely legible.
- Binding: Consistent with its age and heavy spine wear a couple of the first pages are loose.
