Bound in half brown leather with paper covered boards, raised bands. Each book is approx. 9\" x 6.25\"Illustrations on steel and wood.
CONDITION: Leather shows rubbing and scuffs with corner bumping and edge wear.Binding is right and stable. There is moderate to heavy foxing on the flyleaves and title pages of all volumes. The main engravings in each volume also have light to heavy foxing - the tissue paper in front of the engravings seems to be the cause of the foxing, so the foxing is limited to the main engravings and some pages in close contact; for the most part the rest of the pages in the books are clean. Volume 6 has a grouping of about 8 pages with an accidental diagonal crease.A previous owner\'s name is written in fountain pen ink on the flyleaf of the first volume.
