Born in Montevideo, his passion for design was manifested through his creations in jewelry and his affinity with tango led him to be part of the tanguera movement on both sides of the Silver River. She started working on specially created pieces for which she was her most famous client: Eva Perón. In 1960 he emigrated to the United States with his wife and set up his jewelry shop in Beverly Hills, the perfect place to catch celebrities the size of Elizabeth Taylor, Sofia Loren, Robert Wagner and Zsa Zsa Gabor. With a stellar career in which he received very important awards creating unique pieces, he always knows how to devote time to be a reference to our culture, proving that love for Uruguay transcends time and distance. Angel is no less than the creator of the Tango Flag and a luxurious presence in the rioplatian chats with his poems and musical compositions.
Angel Castelo, age 98, of Los Angeles, California passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Angel was born August 30, 1924 in Montevideo.
