Bound in leather with gold-gilt lettering and decoration on the spine and cover, three raised bands on the spine, marbled endpapers, sewn-in silk bookmark. Published in 1987 by Briar Patch Press as part of its African Collection. This is a facsimile reprint of an early edition. Profusely illustrated throughout with Millais\' drawings. When this book was first published, the Daily Telegraph said that \"Never before or elsewhere have the winged and furred creatures of the wild lived in their lithe beauty and fantastic grace as in these delicate drawings.\" There is also a map of the authors travels. 345 pages.
