Mobil 1 Synthetic LV ATF HP is a full synthetic automatic transmission fluid. Mobil\'s data sheet describes it as “recommended for use in modern high performance vehicles requiring DEXRON® HP ATF, DEXRON® license code J-62120,” and states it is “warranty approved for all vehicles specifying DEXRON® HP ATF.”
This is nine 1-quart bottles, Mobil part number 124715 — a case of six plus three, so you are not buying two cases and sitting on three spare quarts. Most sellers only list sixes and twelves.

Fluid volume on a modern automatic depends entirely on what you are doing. A drain-and-fill takes a fraction of what a full exchange does, and the two numbers are often very different on the same transmission.
• Drain and fill — only what comes out of the pan. Usually a good deal less than the total capacity • Full fluid exchange or flush — the total system capacity, and usually a couple of quarts more so the machine can push old fluid through • Torque converter drained, or a rebuild — the full capacity
A worked example: GM\'s own specification sheet for the 8L90 eight-speed gives a fluid capacity of 10.3 litres excluding cooler volume — roughly 10.9 US quarts. So on that transmission nine quarts is a generous drain-and-fill, not a complete fill. Check your service data for the figure that matches the job you are doing — and if you tell us the vehicle and the job, we will check it with you before you order. Which Mobil ATF do you actually need?
Mobil sells several automatic transmission fluids and their specification lists do not overlap. Searching “Mobil 1 ATF” can land you on any of them. Here is what each one is approved or recommended for, in Mobil\'s own words:

Three things this fluid is not Not DEXRON-VI. DEXRON HP and DEXRON-VI are separate GM specifications, and this fluid is licensed against HP only. Worth knowing: some early bottles of HP fluid carried a backward-compatibility note that was later corrected. If your vehicle calls for DEXRON-VI, buy a DEXRON-VI fluid. Not Ford MERCON LV or ULV. The letters “LV ATF” read like MERCON LV, and a lot of Ford owners are shopping for exactly that. Ford is not named anywhere in this product\'s data sheet, in any capacity. If you need MERCON LV, buy a MERCON LV fluid. Not Toyota WS. “Low viscosity” leads people here, but Mobil makes no Toyota claim on this fluid. Mobil\'s Toyota product is ATF 3309, a different part number.
It is also not a CVT fluid and not a dual-clutch (DCT/DSG) fluid. This is for conventional automatic transmissions specifying GM DEXRON HP.
Check your owner\'s manual or service data for the fluid specification, not the fluid\'s name. If you are unsure, message us with the year, make, model and transmission and we will check before you buy.
