- Catalog: Crawford 544/33, 3.70g, approx. 19mm.
- Struck between 32 to 31 BC for Marc Antony during the war following the assassination of Julius Caesar to honor his Roman Legions.
- The legionary coinage of Marc Antony was likely produced at his winter headquarters at Patrae. Twenty-three legions were honored: LEG PRI to LEG XXIII.
- Legio XVIIIwas founded ca. 41 BC by Octavian (future emperorAugustus). The legion was, along with Legio XVII and Legio XIX, destroyed in theBattle of Teutoburg Forest(September, 9 AD).
- Obverse: war galley rowing right, mast with banners at prow, ANT AVG III VIR R P C.
- Reverse: legionary eagle between two standards, LEG XVIII.
- Certified by NGC to Ch VF, Strike 3/5, Surface 2/5 Marks.
