Genuine raw fleece from healthy, pasture-raised sheep on a family farm in Oregon\'s Willamette Valley. This is classic farm-fresh wool with natural lanolin and the authentic texture fiber artists love.
About the Wool
Our flock is mostly Corriedale crosses and other Oregon-adapted breeds, producing versatile wool with:
- Staple length: typically 3–5+ inches
- Micron: 29–35 across samples
- Nice crimp for bounce and elasticity
- Color: creamy off-white to light cream
Expect natural variation in staple and crimp from batch to batch — that\'s the character of real farm wool. It washes up airy, bouncy, and easy to work with, with a good body, well suited to projects where bright white isn\'t required.
What It\'s Good For
Handspinning heavier yarns, wet and dry felting, rug hooking and rug making, blankets, insulation, stuffing (pillows, bags), and natural dyeing. Tough enough for rugs, outer mittens, bags, and outdoor gear, and it fulls fast and firm for felters.
WASHING
Hot water and Dawn or Orvus Paste, no agitation, two wash baths and two rinses. Lanolin this heavy needs the water genuinely hot. Message me and I\'ll send my full method — happy to walk a first-timer through it.

SHIPPING
Raw wool is bulky but compresses well and springs right back, so we pack it tightly in heavy-duty poly bags to keep your cost down.
- Under 50 lbs: USPS Ground Advantage or Priority
- 50–100 lbs: UPS/FedEx Ground (usually the better rate at this weight)
- 100–5,000 lbs: Freight/LTL (e.g. uShip or consolidated) — often $0.50–$1.50/lb total, by far the cheapest per pound
- Free local pickup in the Willamette Valley — skip shipping entirely
PLEASE NOTE
This is unprocessed and unwashed. Large tags and heavily soiled sections are removed where possible; mild staining is normal and comes out in the wash. Stored smoke-free in a dry barn, no chemicals — just wool from well-fed animals on good pasture.
