Operation Method
1. Setup: Place the lathe on a flat, stable workbench. Connect to AC 220V/60Hz power. Install the 4-jaw chuck onto the main spindle and mount your workpiece. Adjust the tailstock position to support the free end of the workpiece with the live center. Tighten all locking levers before starting.
2. Speed Selection: Turn the speed control knob to set the desired RPM. For rough turning of large stock, use lower speeds (300-600 RPM). For fine finishing and small-diameter work, use higher speeds (800-1600 RPM). The digital display shows the current RPM.
3. Turning Operation: Mount a turning tool in the tool post. Use the cross slide handwheel to advance the tool toward the workpiece. Use the longitudinal slide handwheel to move the tool along the workpiece axis. Take light passes for best surface finish. Always move the tool from larger to smaller diameter.
4. Bead Forming: Install the appropriate bead-forming cutter into the auxiliary motor chuck. Position the cross slide so the cutter aligns with the desired location on the rotating workpiece. Turn on the auxiliary motor and slowly advance the cutter to create the bead profile. Use progressively smaller cutters for detailed profiles.
5. Drilling: Install a drill bit in the auxiliary motor chuck. Position the tailstock or workpiece so the drill aligns with the center point. Start the auxiliary motor and advance the drill slowly. Use cutting fluid for hardwoods. Clear chips frequently to prevent burning.
6. Shutdown: Reduce speed to zero before turning off the power. Wait for the chuck to stop completely before removing the workpiece. Clean chips from the bed and slides after each use. Cover the machine when not in use.

Speed Limits: Do not exceed 1600 RPM. For large or out-of-round workpieces, use lower speeds to prevent vibration and ejection. Always start at lowest speed and increase gradually.
Tool Handling: Keep cutting tools sharp. Dull tools require more force and are more likely to catch or kick back. Hold tools firmly against the rest and advance slowly.
Power Safety: Connect to properly grounded 220V/60Hz circuit. Disconnect power before changing chucks, tools, or performing maintenance. Never leave running unattended.
Work Area: Maintain adequate lighting and clean, uncluttered work area. Remove wood chips regularly. Keep flammable materials away from motor and electrical components.
Emergency Stop: Know location of emergency stop button. Press immediately if any abnormal situation occurs. Do not attempt to stop a rotating chuck by hand.
