1995 Abel Pann Portfolio – 11 Large Limited Edition Judaica Lithographic Reproductions – 19 3/4 x 27 1/2 in
Offered is a portfolio of 11 large lithographic reproductions after works by Abel Pann (1883–1963), one of the important early artists associated with the Bezalel School and the development of Jewish art in Eretz Israel.
The portfolio was printed in Italy in 1995 in a limited edition of 1,000 copies.
Each large-format print measures approximately 50 x 70 cm (19 3/4 x 27 1/2 inches) and reproduces one of Pann\'s distinctive works depicting Biblical subjects, Jerusalem, and figures inspired by the people and landscapes of the Middle East.
Subjects represented in the portfolio include scenes and figures associated with the Hebrew Bible / Old Testament, Jerusalem, Biblical mothers and children, and other Judaica themes.
Several prints are individually numbered from the edition of 1,000. The Abel Pann signatures appearing on the prints are printed/facsimile signatures and are NOT hand-signed.
About Abel Pann
Abel Pann (1883–1963) was a Jewish painter, illustrator, and printmaker born in the Russian Empire. He studied art in Odessa and later continued his artistic education in Paris at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière.
Pann eventually settled in Jerusalem and became closely associated with the Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts, where he taught under Boris Schatz.
He became especially known for his interpretations of Biblical subjects, frequently portraying Biblical figures with the appearance, clothing, and atmosphere of the Middle East. His work occupies an important place in the development of early Israeli and Jewish art.

Condition
The lithographs are in very good overall vintage condition. The outer portfolio/folder shows age-related wear, including edge and corner wear, creasing and handling marks, as visible in the photographs.
