A unique hand-bound artist’s book object created from a section of Logan Elm Press’s celebrated 1990 production A Letter of Columbus.
This is not a complete copy of the original book. Rather, it is a deliberately preserved and beautifully presented excerpt containing four full printed pages from the work, accompanied by the original zinc monoprint imagery.
The original Logan Elm production was issued in only 130 copies and is one of the press’s most admired fine-press artist books. It features a poem by David Citino adapted from Columbus’s letter of February 15, 1493, announcing his return from the New World, with monoprints by Anthony Rice printed from hand-painted zinc plates.
This object preserves the visual and material essence of that project in a unique hand-bound form.

Condition
Very good to fine overall.
Printed leaves clean and well preserved. Monoprint imagery strong and attractive. Handmade binding sound and handsome, with only minor handling wear.
