Original Vintage July 1977 Soap Creek Saloon poster/calendar designed by legendary Austin artist Kerry Awn. The poster prominently features an illustrated portrait of Delbert McClinton and advertises a full month of performances at the historic Austin-area music venue.
The July schedule includes Delbert McClinton, Paul Ray & The Cobras, Jimmie Vaughan & The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Augie Meyers, Uranium Savages, Marcia Ball, Billy Spears, The Howlers and others.
Of particular interest to Texas blues collectors is the July 21–22 Paul Ray & The Cobras appearance. Stevie Ray Vaughan was a member of the Cobras during this period, making this an excellent early piece of Austin/SRV-era music memorabilia.
The artwork is signed in print © Kerry Awn 1977 and marked “in a series – Vol. 4 No. 7 – collect ’em all.” The upper artwork also references Delbert McClinton and Capricorn Records.
