I will not use Caramel checkout. If you want to purchase the truck, we will have to complete an outside sale. You\'re welcome to pick it up in person with cash in hand, or we can work out shipping details. Check my response and rest assured this is a legitimate transaction. Call with questions 520-348-3576. Happy to FaceTime potential buyers.
1969 K10 Custom Short-Bed. This is the real deal. One owner, short-bed 69 K10 that spent its life in Sacramento, CA. I purchased this truck last year with the intention of turning into a Restomod truck. The truth is I\'ve been convinced to buy a long-bed C10 if I\'m just going to chop it up. So I\'ve purchased an additional (cheap) C10 for the Restomod project as I\'ve been convinced (and agree) it would be a shame to convert this into something that it\'s not.
I have the original CA pink slip and the pink slip from the son (same name as original owner) when he inherited the truck. I also have the original Bill of Sale. This truck sold new from Lew Williams Chevrolet Center in Sacramento, CA and spent its life there and also in nearby Fiddletown, CA. I do have some maintenance documents dating back to the 90s.
Here\'s the full and complete disclosure on the vehicle as I know it.
Drivetrain: Original 350 and manual shift transmission. I only drove this truck down the driveway last year and then parked it under the lean-to where you see the photos of it now. It ran, but didn\'t run amazing. Engine felt strong, but definitely needed a tune. Hasn\'t been started since last October when I purchased the truck. Mileage is not original nor can I verify true mileage as the cluster numbers don\'t turn. Not sure what\'s going on with that. The original owner\'s son estimated 80-100k original miles. Truck was barely driven the past 25 years. Engine likely good and compressions excellent, or maybe worst case scenario it would need a rebuild. I couldn\'t tell you, but I have no reason to believe the motor is bad.
Interior: Completely original. Carpet is well worn and needs replaced. Seats, door cards, dash, etc. is what you can expect from a 52/53 year old vehicle. Fairly nice shape for what it is. Bunch of miscellaneous junk under the bench seat. Gun rack mounted to the back of the cabin.
Paint/Body: The vehicle was originally green/white per the sales contract. It was repainted in the late 70s or early 80s per the son of the original owner. Not the best paint job, but decent looking truck. As you can see, paint is peeling up in the bed and other areas. Doors close nice and solid and so does the tailgate.
Rust: Zero rust that I can tell. You may find a spec of superficial surface rust, but other than tearing up all the carpet, I\'ve inspected just about everywhere and can\'t find anything other than superficial surface rust. Remarkably straight, bondo-free original truck. Seriously, it\'ll be hard to find one with better bones, and this is the value in the truck.
Misc: SPID missing from the glovebox door. I imagine it was removed when the truck was painted. I don\'t seem to have it in the pile of papers that came with the vehicle. It needs some work. From what I remember, the steering column was loose and other odds and ends are going to need attention. I\'d plan on going through the truck over a couple weekends to fix leaks, address small issues, replace miscellaneous minor items, etc. There is a hidden Ramsey winch in the front bumper (no clue if it works). So much potential here on a highly desirable truck. The block and heads in the back of the truck came with the truck. The seller told me his Dad was a motor head and started building another engine many years back. He didn\'t know if he was building it for this truck or not. It has some surface rust as seen on the photos.
Fine print: As stated, I\'m not waiting on my money from , so I don\'t use Caramel checkout. It\'s ridiculous that I need to wait for the person to have the vehicle arrive at their location before getting the money. So if you\'re not interested in the old fashioned method of paying for the truck and receiving the truck, please look elsewhere. This is an \"as-is, where-is\" sale. I\'m negotiable, but please save the silly offers for someone else. Do you research and find apples to apples comparables and you\'ll see the value in this truck. Either pick it up in person and trailer it home, or I can assist with arranging a transport. Cash, bank wire, or cashiers check to purchase. However you decide to pay, please know the truck is not leaving here until the funds are fully cleared in my account.
Thanks for looking.
