1968 The Great Poster Trip Art Eureka Rick Griffin Grateful Dead Psychedelic Book
An important early book devoted to the psychedelic poster art of the 1960s San Francisco scene, featuring more than 200 poster designs, including numerous full-color examples. Artists represented include Rick Griffin, Stanley Mouse, Alton Kelley, Victor Moscoso, Wes Wilson, Bob Fried and others. Posters include work associated with the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Big Brother & the Holding Company, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Bill Graham/Fillmore, Family Dog/Avalon Ballroom and other major figures and venues of the era.
Includes striking full-page and color reproductions as well as information identifying artists and poster producers. The book also retains the original poster ordering information in the rear. Published in 1968, making this a particularly early contemporary documentation of the psychedelic poster movement.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTE: The binding adhesive has dried with age, and the front cover is becoming loose from the text block.
