I bead blast down to bare metal on the head , base and hook to remove all surface rust , corrosion and old dead paint . Then return to original semi gloss black on the head , base .and hook. Matte nichol on the shaft. Finally , I test the mechanism under load up and down.
Works well up and down , ready for your trunk display and use.
